Duration: 1 January 2021-31st March 2022.

JYC Bara implemented the Early Grade Quality Improvement Project (EQUIP) from January to March 2021 with support and funding from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in partnership with VSO Nepal. The project aligns with the SAHAYATRA Project, funded by the European Union and led by VSO, and shares the common goal of ensuring inclusive, quality education for marginalized girls and children with disabilities. It promotes resilient, gender-responsive education governance through active engagement of civil society organizations (CSOs) in Nepal.

EQUIP was implemented across four local levels in Bara and Rautahat districts, covering a total of 20 schools—10 in each district. In Bara, the selected schools were from Kalaiya and Jeetpur-Simara sub-metropolitan cities (five schools each). Similarly, in Rautahat, five schools were selected from each of Gadhi Mai and Gaur municipalities. The current focus of EQUIP is the development and strengthening of Early Childhood Development (ECD) initiatives at both school and municipal levels in these districts.
