Job Title: Team Leader 

Reports to:  President/donor agency 

No. of Vacancy: 1 

Contract: Annual for 3 years based on performance.

Location: Bara district 

Salary: as per provision of project/Negotiable  

Position Description: 

Purpose: The team leader is responsible for leading the implementation of the Strengthening Community Resilience project in support of Islamic Relief Nepal. S/he will be in close coordination with the Project lead of Islamic Relief Nepal. In addition, s/he will be responsible for coordination with Local government, schools other involved stakeholders.  

Key Responsibilities 

  1. Project Management:
  • Lead the team to manage the provided resources in an efficient and responsible manner
  • Provide substantive input and backstopping of the activities in accordance with the work plans.
  • Organize monthly internal project review meeting 
  • Support to carrying out PVCA, Market analysis and other DRR/CCA, Technical Education and Vocational Training related assessments as per program requirements.
  • Organize district, RM and community-level events /workshops/training
  • Prepare a detailed Implementation plan highlighting key milestones and financial cash flow projections
  • Identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies and effective risk management in place
  • Prepare monthly and semi-annual project reports and validate the reports against the attached financial reports  
  • Ensured for monthly/quarterly plan and report is submitted timely.
  • Establish good coordination with government and non-government stakeholders to prevent duplication of actions.
  • Support in the logistic arrangement at the field level for monitoring visits, evaluations and donor visits etc.   
  1. Capacity Building
  • Conduct periodic staff performance appraisals against the set performance objectives contributing to Project deliverables with a proper performance management system in place
  • Demonstrate strong leadership to coach, mentor and guide the team in delivering their plan/tasks
  • Conduct regular capacity assessments of the Project team and provide needful support to demonstrate better leadership 
  • Support and encourage the team to adapt to change and also able to accommodate new learning and guidance/requirements including the contexts such as emergencies 
  1. Monitoring & Evaluations
  • Undertake monitoring visits to the project sites as required; 
  • Lead the team in managing validated data and information to reflect Project results timely
  • Support team  to input correct data and regular review and analysis of the data and information
  • Ensure that innovative approaches, good practices, particular challenges, or good results are documented to support agency learning.
  1. Relationship Management:
  • Convene coordination and collaborations with relevant stakeholders to share the resources and produce a more significant impact 
  • Manage effective communication and coordination with staff, PNGO board and all relevant stakeholders to manage Project effectively

E. Child and adult safeguarding     

  • Contribute to setting up and systematizing the robust complaint and reporting mechanism. 
  • Utilize and manage resources to set up complaint response mechanisms and follow up and guide the project team to follow all the safeguarding and PSEAH protocols and provisions during the field engagement. 
  • Ensure all the working environments in the office and working areas are child and adult-sensitive.
  • Support the organization in complying with all child and adult safeguarding policies, requirements, and audits
  • No previous records/information regarding involvement in safeguarding concerns (Positive/satisfactory statement in reference check).
  • Disseminate information/messages to beneficiaries and target communities on Safeguarding and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH).

Academic Qualification and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, management, humanities social science, education or, any relevant field.  
  • Proven ability to manage risks and promote governance to contribute to strategic outcomes
  • Experience in working with children and vulnerable families in both development or emergency contexts
  • Knowledge of Bhojpuri Language

Sector Knowledge: 

  • At least 5 years of working experience with a minimum of 2 years’ experience at the supervisor level, preferably in the Livelihood program
  • Have a good technical knowledge and experience in sector, data and information management
  • Proven project management and financial management experience
  • Diverse team management to yield quality results within the stipulated time period
  • Presentation skills to highlight the areas of success and failure with qualitative and quantitative data and relevant information\
  • Good communication skills in English and the local language is added advantage
